*Call to Worship
Do you experience doubt?
Yes, But I trust in the Lord!
Are there misconceptions about your faith?
Yes! But I trust in the Lord!
Do you ever wonder how to become stronger in your faith?
Romans 10:17 reminds us that “faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” We can become stronger by learning about and reading the Bible.
Let us worship God and hear His Word!
*Prayer of Confession
Dear Lord, we live our lives wondering how we can increase our faith, but we rarely take the next step. We have opportunities for increasing our Bible knowledge, but other things take over our time. Help us to use all we hear from Your Word today to build our confidence, to draw us to Your Word, to witness to others and to seek ways to grow as individuals and as a church body…(Silent time of prayer)
*Assurance of Pardon
Jesus expects the same blind faith from us as He asked of of the disciples, even though the disciples often witnessed His great works. As we look past Easter and the greatest gift ever given, remember that the Lord gave His life to save ours, no matter how often we may doubt.
Thanks be to God!
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
The Rest That God Promised
4 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest is still open, let us take care that none of you should seem to have failed to reach it. 2 For indeed the good news came to us just as to them; but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,
“As in my anger I swore,
‘They shall not enter my rest,’”
though his works were finished at the foundation of the world.
