Call to Worship
O Lord of the Universe,
All Your creation glorifies Your name.
You, God, are the Master Planner.
All Your creation glorifies Your name.
It shows me Your complexity and precision.
All Your creation glorifies Your name.
You gave us minds curious and appreciative. Help us to use science to lovingly care for Your world, from the smallest particle to the enormous galaxies,
The Heavens–and all the earth–Declare Your Glory!

Prayer of Confession
Almighty God, just as weeds tangle themselves up in our gardens, strangling our plants and flowers, sin grows in our lives, threatening to separate us from You. Help us to be diligent in keeping the weeds from taking hold of our lives. Help us to trust You as the Master Gardener, pruning away the evil and fertilizing us with Your Word. Help us to grow strong in faith and to bear fruit so others can witness Your glory and power…

Assurance of pardon
As Jesus tends the garden, He curses the weeds and heals the flowers; just as He condemns the sin and shows mercy to His followers; spreading His forgiveness.
Thanks be to God!

John 15:1-8

Jesus the True Vine
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. 2 He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit. 3 You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Whoever does not abide in me is thrown away like a branch and withers; such branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.
