Then\, at 5:00 pm\, the most beautiful service of the year\, our candlelight Christmas Eve service begins.  It includes music from our Chancel Choir\, this year a sermon titled “The Gift of Light” which is one of the gifts of Christmas\, and then the beautiful closing of each person lighting their candle with the church lights off.  This is all done to the singing of “Silent Night.”  Does this author sound biased?  Yes\, but this is beautiful!!  You need to be here!  You won’t regret it!  Merry Christmas\, everyone!

DESCRIPTION:“The light shines in the darkness\, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5  \nThe Christmas season can be difficult for those of us experiencing loneliness\, sadness and loss. We can feel singled out by the programmed happiness of “the most wonderful time of the year.” But we are not alone. As the hymn states\, the hopes and fears of all the years are met in him\,” Jesus\, Immanuel\, God with us. Many people experience at least some sadness and loss in this season. With this thought in mind we will be hosting our second annual Blue Christmas Luncheon which will take place on Saturday December 17\, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. This gathering will be an opportunity to be with others who struggle during the holidays and to support each other through time together in prayer\, worship and remembrance.  Please let the church know if you are attending by calling the office at 402 345-5383.  We want to make sure that we have enough food for everyone.
