This may be ideal for those who wish to study God’s word before our WND dinner\, for those who want to come early and go home before dark\, or are also involved in the church choir.  All are welcome!  It is led by Kathy Stockham and is held in Jenks Lounge.  Enter the 34th Street door to get to Jenk’s Lounge. \nIf you would like some silence after a busy Wednesday\, the chapel will be open for individuals who would like to pray and meditate or just relax in a quiet\, beautiful space. DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \nSave the date of September 2\, 2016 for the First Presbyterian Church NITE OWL Walk through the Hitchcock Wetlands Learning Center for a guided hike through the woods in search of owls.  The evening begins with dinner at Sortino’s at 78th and L Streets at 5:45 pm.  Everyone is responsible for paying their own food bill. Then we travel to the Hitchcock Wetlands Learning Center.  The owl hike will be from 7:30 – 9:00 pm.   After a brief presentation by the Fontenelle Forest guide at 7:30 pm\, we will begin our walk where the chances of finding and seeing owls in the woods are very good.   The trails are flat and handicapped accessible.  Please bring a flashlight.  Parking is available in the Gifford Farm Parking lot right across the road from the Wetlands Center.  The price for the guided hike is $9.50 for adults and $7.50 for children 2-17.  Members of Fontenelle Forest are free.  Best directions to Hitchcock Learning Center are:  13th Street South to Bellevue Blvd: left on Bellevue Blvd about a mile to Camp Gifford Road. (You go past the main Fontenelle Forest Nature Center Building). Turn left on Gifford Road and follow all the way to Gifford Farm/Hitchcock Wetlands Learning Center.

DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nA six week roaming Thursday night Home Bible Study called “Getting to know God” will begin on Thursday\, August 18th\, 6:30 – 8:00 at Larry and Sherry Taylor’s Home. The purpose of the study is to get to know our God better\, so we can love Him more and trust Him in a greater way in every part of our lives. It will be a great deal of fun and very safe for everyone no matter where one is at in their spiritual walk. The study is open to every member of the church and you may even bring a friend if you wish. It also houses over 80 studio artists\, as well as four gallery spaces in the building complex located in downtown Omaha\, just north of the Century Link Center at the corner of 13th and Nicholas. DESCRIPTION:Beginning Sunday June 5 –July 3 we are offering a five week study based on the book Love Does by Bob Goff.  Here is a little introduction: \n“Tapping into love requires a different skill set than what it takes to memorize answers for a test or to follow all the traffic laws so you don’t get a ticket.  This isn’t a love you can earn\, buy\, or win.  It’s something better.  Something bigger. And it just might be something you discover more about by “doing stuff” too. \nThat’s what this study is all about. \nLove does is a five-week experiment in doing the love of God.  Each session will explore a different aspect of God’s active love through the teachings and stories of Bob Goff. There will be an opening question\, a short Bible study\, and then a video featuring Bob.  However\, the real action comes after the video when you dig into each topic in a guided small group time.  Here’s where the rubber meets the road and you see how God’s love gets practical as you are invited to join in it too.  It’s going to be great. Really.” \nJoin us for a sandwich lunch ($3.00 donation)\, a time of fellowship and a great study.  Look for the signup in Calvin hall or contact the church office.
