DESCRIPTION:You\, your family and friends are invited to the most beautiful evening at First Presbyterian Church – our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.  On Sunday\, December 24\, the evening begins at 4:30 pm with a music prelude which includes vocal and musical selections by members of our church. Then\, at 5:00 pm\, the most beautiful service of the year\, our candlelight Christmas Eve service begins.  It includes music from our Chancel Choir\, a sermon about the birth of Jesus\, and then the beautiful closing of each person lighting their candle with the church lights off.  This is all done to the singing of “Silent Night.”  Does this author sound biased?  Yes\, but this is beautiful!!  You need to be here!  You won’t regret it!  Merry Christmas\, everyone!

Come and join in the conversation April 4\, 11 & 18 at 6:15 in Jenks Lounge. \nPastor Emad\, a member of the Presbytery of Missouri River Valley\, is pastor of the Arabic Christian Fellowship that works to meet the physical\, social\, and spiritual needs of Middle Eastern and other immigrants and refugees here in Omaha. This is done primarily through demonstrating God’s love in practical and culturally relevant ways. DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, September 8\, First Presbyterian Church will hold its second annual Owl Hike.  The evening starts at 5:45 PM at Sortino’s Pizza (78th  & L) for food and fellowship.  Everyone is responsible for paying their own food bill. Then we travel to the Hitchcock Wetlands Learning Center.  The owl hike will be from 7:30 – 9:00 pm. \nAfter a brief presentation by the Fontenelle Forest guide at 7:30 pm\, we will begin our walk where the chances of finding and seeing owls in the woods are very good.   The trails are flat and handicapped accessible.  Please bring a flashlight.  Parking is available in the Gifford Farm Parking lot right across the road from the Wetlands Center.  The price for the guided hike is $9.50 for adults and $7.50 for children 2-17.  Members of Fontenelle Forest are free. \nBest directions to Hitchcock Learning Center are:  13th Street South to Bellevue Blvd: left on Bellevue Blvd about a mile to Camp Gifford Road. (You go past the main Fontenelle Forest Nature Center Building). Turn left on Gifford Road and follow all the way to Gifford Farm/Hitchcock Wetlands Learning Center.  To join us\, please contact the church by September 7.
