Greet your neighbor with Christian love and let them know that you’re glad to see them!)

*Call to Worship                                                                                                     AJ Baratta

Leader:     As we gather this morning, let us be moved to a new level.

People:    Let us look deeper into our hearts!

Leader:     Let us listen more intently, hear more clearly;

People:    Let us think deeper about prayer!

Leader:     As we gather, let us worship not out of obligation or as a routine act, but

praising the Lord who shows us ways to delve deeper into our faith.

ALL:        Let us more deeply worship God!

*Praise Hymn                           “Just a Closer Walk with Thee”                               Unknown

*Prayer of Confession (Unison)

Dear Lord, how often do we fill our lives with activities and carelessly place them ahead of our time with You?  We schedule opportunities to binge watch the latest weekly dramas, but sleep through worship.  We eagerly read the most recent messages and social media blogs while our Bibles remain closed on the night stand.  We take our faith for granted and set You aside until we desperately need You.  Help us to see how deep our need for You truly is, how much we need to grow, how our lives can improve, and how much higher we can rise by going deeper into our faith…(Silent time of prayer)

*Assurance of Pardon

Leader:     Jesus forgives us no matter how far we bury our lives in sin.  He lifts us up

when we sink into despair and builds us up with His mercy.  He washes us

clean as we dive deeper into His arms.

ALL:          Thanks be to God!

* The Gloria Patri – Hymn Tune, 581

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen.

Message          “Going Deeper:  Deeper in Our Faith”            Dr. Blake

Colossians 1:3-14

Paul Thanks God for the Colossians
1 In our prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel 6 that has come to you. Just as it is bearing fruit and growing in the whole world, so it has been bearing fruit among yourselves from the day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God. 7 This you learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, 8 and he has made known to us your love in the Spirit.

9 For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Litany of Dedication to Music Ministry

Leader:                  Making music to the praise of God in the congregation is a

ministry that requires devotion and discipline.  Do you accept

individual responsibility for this ministry?

Musicians:           I do.

Leader:                  Will you be faithful to the discipline of music?

Musicians:           I will.

Leader:                  May the faith expressed by your music live in your heart; may what you believe in your heart, be practiced in your life; and may God give you grace to offer your music and your life in faithfulness and dedication to Him, now and in the world to come.

I commend to the congregation, these persons.  They have been

blessed with the spiritual gifts to serve in the music ministry in the

church.  Will you sustain them with your encouragement and your

prayers, as together we seek to offer praise to God?

People:                 We will.

Prayer (Unison)

God of prayer and song, God of melody and silence, be with Your servants

who make music and sing praises for Your glory.  May the joyful noises rising

to the Heavens give us a glimpse of the beauty which awaits us at the end of

the ages.  May the praise extended fulfill our spirit, lift our heart and continue

to offer the hope of perfection promised as we stand before Your unveiled

glory.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.  Amen.

*Hymn  #738                                                                “O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee”

Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer (Unison)

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come,

thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily

bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not

into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom and the

power and the glory, forever. Amen.
