Praise Hymn “Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone” C Tomlin
*Call to Worship
Leader: As we worship today, we are equal in God’s sight;
People: we are all sinners, looking for guidance.
Leader: We look to the scriptures to find ourselves in the stories of others,
People: we look to the Lord for redemption!
Leader: In a world where we are graded on a curve, we come today as equals in
the body of Christ.
. ALL: Let us more deeply worship God!
*Hymn ”Multiplied” Need to Breathe
*Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Dear Lord, we live our lives always wanting to be the best, the favorite, the one chosen first without regard to those we leave behind. We compare our lives, our decisions and our wrong doings: going just a few miles over the lawful speed limit; telling ‘little white lies’, minimizing our sins while highlighting the sins of our neighbors. We are all complicit and all guilty regardless of the magnitude of the sin we commit. Help us to look inward and recognize our weaknesses, and then look outward to forgive others as we hope to be forgiven…(Silent time of prayer)
*Assurance of Pardon
Leader: God gives us life and choices including the choice to accept Jesus, who
gives us grace and mercy in spite of our best attempts to live contrary to His way.
ALL: Thanks be to God!
* The Gloria Patri – Hymn Tune, 581
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Romans 3:19-24
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
Righteousness through Faith
21 But now, apart from law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed, and is attested by the law and the prophets, 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction, 23 since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; 24 they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the
power and the glory, forever. Amen.
