*The Greeting and Welcoming of One Another
(There are no strangers in God’s House, just friends we have not yet met.
Greet your neighbor with Christian love and let them know that you’re glad to see them!)
Hymn “Our God” C Tomlin

Call to Worship
Leader: We gather today as those who know the Good News;
People: and as people who want to be bearers of it.
Leader: The joy and promise of the Christ Child is life changing;
People: and worthy of sharing with all we know and all we meet.
Leader: The Shepherds did not keep the glorious news of Christ a
secret, and neither should we. Go spread the Light of the world to its
darkest corners.
ALL: Let us worship God!
Lighting of the Advent Candle: The Shepherds’ Candle
*Hymn “Go Light the World” C Rice
*Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Dear Lord, we live in an age where news travels at the speed of light. Whether on web pages, social media or more traditional media sources, anything happening across the world can be shared within seconds. The internet is overflowing with the latest tragedies, crime sprees and errors in judgement. We are people who love the latest story, whether true, false or enhanced. Help us, Lord, to turn away from the distracting news of the world and focus on You. Guide us away from the sensational and toward the miraculous. Teach us to be shepherds, curious enough to seek You, determined enough to find You and bold enough to share You..…(Silent time of prayer)
*Assurance of Pardon
Leader: Even when our voices are quiet and the light within us is dim, Jesus fills us, ignites us, loves us and forgives us.
ALL: Thanks be to God!
*The Gloria Patri – Hymn Tune, 581
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
