Hymn “ Blessed Be Your Name” M Redman
Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
Blessed Be Your name
When I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name
Every blessing You pour out, I’ll
Turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be Your name
When the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s ‘all as it should be’
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
Every blessing You pour out I’ll
Turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
You give and take away
Oh you give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
Call to Worship (Responsive)
Leader: We gather this morning to become transformed,
People: to focus more on the Lord, and less on the world.
Leader: We seek ways to renew our minds;
People: to think more like Jesus and to live more like Jesus.
Leader: Every day we wake with decisions to make. When we use the insight of a
follower of Jesus, we draw ourselves closer to Him and to each other.
All: Let us worship God!
Hymn “Who You Say I Am” Hillsong Worship
Who am I that the highest King Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me Oh His love for me
Who the Son sets free Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God Yes I am
Free at last He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me Yes He died for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God Yes I am
In my Father’s house
There’s a place for me
I’m a child of God Yes I am
I am chosen, not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me, not against me
I am who You say I am
I am chosen, not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me, not against me
I am who You say I am I am who You say I am
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God Yes I am
In my Father’s house There’s a place for me I’m a child of God Yes I am
In my Father’s house There’s a place for me I’m a child of God Yes I am
Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Dear Lord, we are blessed to be a part of the body of Christ, but are often more concerned with sticking out from the faithful crowd rather than sticking with them. We want to do the right thing, unless the right thing is the least popular. We intend to use our gifts to do what is necessary, but often do whatever is easiest. Help form us into the formidable people You know we can be. Transform us so that we may inform others about You and not conform to the world.Help …(Silent time of prayer)
Assurance of Pardon
Leader: We are all in transition and in various stages of our faith journeys. The Lord
continues to work on us, to transform us, to have mercy on us and to forgive
us when our progression stalls.
All: Thanks be to God!
The Gloria Patri – Hymn #581
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
WE HEAR GOD’S WORD
Children’s Message
Message “Life Transitions” Dr. Jonathan Sloan
Romans 12:1-5
The New Life in Christ
1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters,[a] by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual[b] worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world,[c] but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.[d]
3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. 4 For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another.
WE RESPOND TO GOD’S WORD
Hymn #14 “For the Beauty of the Earth”
For the beauty of the earth, for the glory
of the skies, for the love which
from our birth over and around us lies:
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
For the wonder of each hour
of the day and of the night,
hill and vale, and tree and flower,
sun and moon, and stars of light:
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
For the joy of ear and eye, for the
heart and mind’s delight,
for the mystic harmony
linking sense to sound and sight:
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
For the joy of human love,
brother, sister, parent, child,
friends on earth, and friends above,
for all gentle thoughts and mild:
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
For thyself, best gift divine
to the world so freely given;
for that great, great love of thine,
peace on earth and joy in heaven:
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer (Unison)
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy
will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Offering:
If, in your current situation, you are still able to give, there are several ways to do so electronically.
Please see the announcements for specific information.

WE GO FORTH TO SERVE
Recognition of Our Graduates
Blessing of the Graduates
Leader: God of truth and knowledge, by your wisdom we are taught the way and the
truth. Bless our graduates as they now finish this course of study.
All: We thank you for those who taught and worked beside them, and all
who supported them along the way.
Leader: Walk with these graduates as they move forward in life on the path that you
have laid for them.
All: Strengthen their many talents and skills, instill in them a confidence in
the future you plan.
Leader: For the graduates, this truly is a day of new beginnings, a time to remember
and stride confidently into the future.
All: May they always know that Christ is alive and goes before us, to show
and share what love can do. This is a day of new beginnings; our God is
making all things new. Amen
Hymn #15 “All Creatures of Our God and King”
All creatures of our God and King,
lift up your voice and with us sing,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
O brother sun with golden beam,
O sister moon with silver gleam,
Sing praises! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
O brother wind with clouds and rain,
You nurture gifts of fruit and grain.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
O sister water, flowing clear,
Make music for your Lord to hear.
Sing praises! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
O brother fire, so warm and bright,
Chase off the shadows of the night.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Dear mother earth, who day by day
Unfolds such blessings on our way,
Sing praises! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
All who for love of God forgive,
all who in pain or sorrow grieve,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Christ bears your burdens and your fears;
So even in the midst of tears,
Sing praises! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
And you, most gentle sister death,
Waiting to hush our final breath:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Since Christ our light has pierced your gloom,
Fair is the night that leads us home.
Sing praises! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
O sisters, brothers, take your part,
and worship God with humble heart.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
All creatures, bless the Father, Son,
And Holy Spirit, Three in One!
Sing praises! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Benediction
Benediction Response “Blest Be the Tie that Binds” arr. L Mason
Blest be the tie that binds
our hearts in Christian love.
The fellowship of kindred minds
is like to that above.
When we are called to part,
it gives us inward pain;
but we shall still be joined in heart,
and hope to meet again.
