Today was communion Sunday, we also prayed The Apostles’ Creed together. Please take time to review it on your own using this valuable resource that goes into each statement in detail by clicking the highlighted parts: The Apostles’ Creed with study notes

*Call to Worship
We come today as children of God;
spiritually descended from the Almighty.
We are called to keep God’s commandments.
We are called to love each other
To truly follow God, we must love without fail, without limits, and not only the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but each other.
Let us worship God!

*Prayer of Confession
Dear Jesus, we profess our love to You, while spewing hatred for our enemies. We beg for Your mercy, while refusing to forgive those who hurt us. We boast that we follow You and are Your children, but we act in ways that do not give You glory. Help us to trust in the love that You freely heap on us. Help us to treat all we encounter as our brothers and sisters, children of the Most High, who should be loved for no other reason than that they are descendants of our beloved God…(Silent time of prayer)

*Assurance of Pardon
Jesus showed us from the cross that there are no limits to His love for us; there are no boundaries for His mercy; His forgiveness spans time, space and sin.
Thanks be to God!

1 John 5:1-5 (NRSV)

Faith Conquers the World
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the parent loves the child. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 3 For the love of God is this, that we obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome, 4 for whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith. 5 Who is it that conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
