Call to Worship AJ Baratta
Leader: We gather this morning to become more knowledgeable;
People: to gain a deeper understanding of our faith.
Leader: We trust that God will teach us and help us,
People: that we may grow wiser and stronger!
Leader: God sees our efforts to learn more, to follow closer and trust in the path
set before us.
ALL: Let us worship God!
*Hymn “Chain Breaker” Williams, Smith & Fields
*Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Dear Lord, we often misinterpret Your words and look toward our own understanding. Encourage us to trust in Your wisdom. We often look to Your commandments as suggested ways to live. Give us strength to trust in Your expectations for us. We don’t always hold Your promises in our hearts, dismissing them as empty rewards, impossible to attain. Remind us of the blessings we have already been given, and prepare us for those yet to come, as we continue to trust in You…(Silent time of prayer)
*Assurance of Pardon
Leader: The promise of mercy and forgiveness is often hard for us to grasp; yet every day we are granted a fresh start. As the sun rises, the Son lifts us up.
ALL: Thanks be to God!
*The Gloria Patri – Hymn Tune, 581
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Admonition to Trust and Honor God
1 My child, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments;
2 for length of days and years of life
and abundant welfare they will give you.
3 Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 So you will find favor and good repute
in the sight of God and of people.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
8 It will be a healing for your flesh
and a refreshment for your body.
