Hymn “Here I Am to Worship” T Hughes
Light of the world, You step down into darkness
Open my eyes let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore you
Hope of a life spent with you
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you’re my God
You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me, my love
King of all days
So highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly you came to the earth you created
All for love’s sake became poor
So, here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you’re my God
You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
I’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
So, here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that you’re my God
You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
Call to Worship AJ Baratta
Leader: We gather this morning, heart to heart, amid trying times;
People: trying to help each other through the confusion and fear.
Leader: Take heart! The Lord is with us no matter where we are;
People: He is in control even when life seems out of control.
Leader: Jesus is wherever we are. He calms the storms, whether they be around
us, or inside of us.
ALL: Let us worship God!
Hymn “This Is Amazing Grace” P Wickham
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness?
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings
Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You’ve done for me
Who brings our chaos back into order?
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter?
The King of Glory, the King of Glory
Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You’ve done for me
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
The King of Glory, the King above all kings
Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Dear Lord, we claim to believe in Your all-encompassing power, yet we doubt Your ability to help us. We cling to the assurance that You are in control, even as we look elsewhere for answers. We seek You in uncertain times, but are often distracted and stray. Hear us as we cry out to You in fear and despair. Hold us tightly as we lose our grip and question You. Remind us of Your promises and guide us to the shelter of Your embrace.… (Silent time of prayer)
Assurance of Pardon
Leader: Even in our doubt and confusion; even in our anger and distrust, the Lord is
in control and covers our weaknesses with His strength, grace and mercy.
ALL: Thanks be to God!
The Gloria Patri – Hymn Tune, 581
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Message “Peace vs. ________” Dr. Jennifer Blake
Mark 4:35-41 and John 16:33
Jesus Stills a Storm (NRSV)
35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” 36 And leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. Other boats were with him. 37
A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39 He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!”
Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. 40 He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” 41 And they were filled with great awe and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
John 16:33 (NRSV)
33 I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!”
WE RESPOND TO GOD’S WORD
Special Music “Oceans” Hillsong United
AJ Baratta
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now
So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
And You are mine
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Saviour
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Saviour
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Saviour
I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine
Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer (Unison)
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy
will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

WE GO FORTH TO SERVE
Hymn #840 “It Is Well with My Soul”
When peace like a river attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll,
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
it is well, it is well with my soul.
It is well with my soul; it is well;
it is well with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet,
though trials should come,
let this blest assurance control,
that Christ hath regarded my helpless estate,
and hath shed his own blood for my soul.
It is well with my soul; it is well;
it is well with my soul.
He lives: O the bliss of this glorious thought.
My sin, not in part, but the whole,
is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
It is well with my soul; it is well;
it is well with my soul.
Lord, hasten the day when our faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll,
the trumpet shall sound and the Lord shall descend;
even so it is well with my soul.
It is well with my soul; it is well;
it is well with my soul.
Benediction
Benediction Response “Blest Be the Tie that Binds” arr. L Mason
Blest be the tie that binds
our hearts in Christian love.
The fellowship of kindred minds
is like to that above.
When we are called to part,
it gives us inward pain;
but we shall still be joined in heart,
and hope to meet again.
