*Call to Worship
Leader: Some of us come today stressed and worn;
People: looking to the Word for strength and rest;
Leader: Some of us come today with heavy hearts;
People: seeking comfort from the Lord and each other.
Leader: The struggles of the world can harden us, but the Lord promises to be
with us and lift us high above the problems that threaten to drown us.
ALL: With grateful hearts, let us worship God!
*Hymn “I Lay It All” M Smith
*Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Dear Lord, we get lost as we focus on the problems that surround us, instead of looking to You for peace. We work hard to be liked and are afraid of being alone, instead of pleasing You and believing the promise that You will never leave us. We often sink deep into our sorrows, unable to see through the darkness, instead of looking to You for light and hope. Help us to rid our souls from all the worry and depression that threatens to keep us from Your joy.
(Silent time of prayer)
*Assurance of Pardon
Leader: Jesus promises us a life full of love, mercy and grace. He sacrificed Himself
to give us relief when tired, encouragement when discouraged, joy when
sorrowful and forgiveness through Him.
ALL: Thanks be to God!
*The Gloria
Glory be to God the father, Glory be to God the son,
Glory be to God the spirit, All glory to the one.

Sermon “Spirit Killer: Depression” Dr. Sloan
28 I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father.”
29 His disciples said, “Yes, now you are speaking plainly, not in any figure of speech! 30 Now we know that you know all things, and do not need to have anyone question you; by this we believe that you came from God.” 31 Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? 32 The hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each one to his home, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. 33 I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!”

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the
power and the glory, forever. Amen.
