*The Greeting and Welcoming of One Another

Greet your neighbor with Christian love and let them know that you’re glad to see them!)

Call to Worship AJ Baratta
Leader: We gather this morning to seek wisdom;
People: wisdom that leads us to true treasures.
Leader: We constantly look for things that give temporary pleasure;
People: but need only that which God gives us through the Word.
Leader: We pray for things we want, but God promises only to take care of our
needs. We come today to look deep inside ourselves for the
God-given treasures that are truly valuable.
ALL: Let us worship God!
*Hymn “Who Am I”
*Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Dear Lord, we say that faith in You is all we need, but we spend much of our lives filling our closets and drawers with “stuff”. We pray for our needs to be met but can’t distinguish between the things we truly need and those we simply desire. Teach us to see the excess in our lives as baggage that weighs us down, while possessions we share lift us up. Help us to recognize that the treasures we hold closest to our hearts should be only those things our hearts can hold; while we release the things that keep our hands too busy to reach out to You and others.…(Silent time of prayer)
*Assurance of Pardon
Leader: We treasure the Lord and hold on to His promises. He frees us from the things that keep us from Him, including sin and fear and replaces them with love and forgiveness.
ALL: Thanks be to God!
*The Gloria Patri – Hymn Tune, 581
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Do Not Worry
22 He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! 25 And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? 26 If then you are not able to do so small a thing as that, why do you worry about the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! 29 And do not keep striving for what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not keep worrying. 30 For it is the nations of the world that strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, strive for his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions, and give alms. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
