*The Greeting and Welcoming of One Another
(There are no strangers in God’s House, just friends we have not yet met.
Greet your neighbor with Christian love and let them know that you’re glad to see them!)
*Hymn “Shout to the Lord” Zschech
*Call to Worship AJ Baratta
Leader: We gather this morning as a community of believers;
People: called together to support and encourage one another.
Leader: We are confident that God’s presence is with us;
People: and we give thanks and praise for the One who draws us together.
Leader: God created Eve so that Adam would not be alone. He created us so
no one would be without a friend, a helper, a supporter in times of strife.
He is with us in spirit and in the fellow members of our community.
ALL: Let us worship God!
*Hymn “More Love, More Power” J Del Hierre
*Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Dear Lord, we know there is strength in numbers, but we continue to live our lives secluded from others. We have been given family and friends, yet we often look to outsiders for answers to the questions that baffle us. We limit the scope of, and the power within, our communities. Help us to open our lives and hearts to those around us. Lead us to the people who can help us make sense of the senseless things that happen in life. Remind us that community stretches far beyond the walls of our house or the streets of our neighborhoods, into a world-wide fellowship of Your followers…(Silent time of prayer)
*Assurance of Pardon
Leader: God sent Jesus to be among us; to teach us the importance of community;
and to be merciful when we fail individually, and as a group. He forgives our
sins and loves us in spite of our weaknesses.
ALL: Thanks be to God!
* The Gloria Patri – Hymn Tune, 581
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
