*The Greeting and Welcoming of One Another
(There are no strangers in God’s House, just friends we have not yet met.
Greet your neighbor with Christian love and let them know that you’re glad to see them!)
*Hymn “Forever” C Tomlin
*Call to Worship
Leader: We gather this morning to learn;
People: so that we may better teach.
Leader: We gather this morning to grow;
People: so that we may be better grounded.
Leader: God has promised eternal life to those who believe. Until that day, we
wait. We look to the Word for knowledge and hope.
ALL: Let us worship God!
*Hymn “Our God” Redman, Myrin, Tomlin and Reeves
*Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Dear Lord, there is so much we do not know and so many things we do not understand. We beg You for clarification, yet turn from opportunities to learn. We listen to misleading and inaccurate ramblings of those who pretend to know You, but turn a deaf ear to those teachers You have placed in our lives. Help us to seek Your guidance and knowledge. Help us to open our minds and hearts to Your Word so that we may grow and encourage others…
(Silent time of prayer)
*Assurance of Pardon
Leader: God has given us the tools we need to grow in faith, love and
understanding. God gave us Jesus to live with us, teach us, and grant us
forgiveness and mercy
ALL: Thanks be to God!
* The Gloria Patri – Hymn Tune, 581
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Message “Who We Are: Growth” Dr. Jonathan Sloan
13 But, in accordance with his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home.
14 Therefore, beloved, while you are waiting for these things, strive to be found by him at peace, without spot or blemish; 15 and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16 speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, since you are forewarned, beware that you are not carried away with the error of the lawless and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer (Unison)
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the
power and the glory, forever. Amen.
