The Season of Thanksgiving – Pastor Brianne Christiansen – November 2025

Dear Friends,

November is the season of thanksgiving. This year our Session has also chosen November to also be our stewardship month; and I love it when stewardship season aligns with Thanksgiving!

To steward something is to take care of the thing entrusted to us, not something we own but rather something we’ve been asked to tend. Stewardship goes hand in hand with thanksgiving as we acknowledge that our money, our talents, and our time are gifts that God has entrusted to us for the good of our church, our community, and our world.

We thank God for all the good gifts God has given First Presbyterian Church of Omaha, and    especially the blessings of community, worship, growth, and service! So this stewardship season, we invite you to pledge your treasures to God in response to God’s blessings.

Here ways you can participate in stewardship season this November:

Read the letter from the Financial Affairs Ministry Team (coming to your mailbox in early November) details about the 2026 proposed budget.

Come to the congregation meeting immediately following worship on November 16 to hear more about our stewardship goals.

Prayerfully fill out your pledge card included in your mailing and return it to the church office or in the offering plates by November 23

Join us on November 23 for Dedication Sunday. During worship, we will pray over our pledges and recommit ourselves to God’s work in and through First Presbyterian Church of Omaha in             2026. Then the celebration continues after worship with our annual Thanksgiving meal (sign up in Calvin Hall soon)!

So thank you for prayerfully considering how God is calling you to support this church. We       appreciate you sharing in the ministry of God here at First Presbyterian Church of Omaha!
