Pastors

Rev. Dr. Jonathan Sloan

I first sensed a call to the ministry in kindergarten. While all my friends wanted to be police officers, doctors, nurses, and astronauts, I wanted to be a pastor. For the last 20 years, I have answered that call. I believe that the message of salvation through Jesus Christ and His Word as reflected in scripture has an immense impact on our lives today and must guide us in all that we do as individuals and as a church.

When I went back to school for my doctoral degree, I focused on the idea that each of us is a masterful creation of God, bestowed with special talents, gifts, strengths, and abilities. We are each a unique masterpiece. God created us just the way He wanted, and our role is to discover and develop His will for our lives. We do this so we can respond to God’s call and be people that realize His full potential for us.

Rev. Dr. Jennifer Blake

jblake@fpcomaha.org
I have a vivid memory as a little girl at family camp, singing with all my heart, “I am a promise, I am a possibility, I am a great big bundle of POTENTIALITY!” Little did I know the impact that song would have on my life. At a young age, a seed was planted that has continued to take root and grow over time. God has placed on my heart a desire to provide opportunities like mine. It’s my desire for others to know the unconditional love of Christ and to create a strong foundation in their life, while fostering spiritual development and strengthening the bonds of family. My passion for ministry lies in equipping not only parents but the extended church family for completing the task of cultivating a child’s faith.
