Pastor’s Manna – Pentecost People

I wrote last month about the need for us to be Easter people.

Easter people are living in the knowledge and confidence that God loves them so much that He came up with a plan to bring about salvation for them. Easter people know that this was not earned or deserved, but a freely given grace from God.

Easter people must also be Pentecost people. What are Pentecost people? Pentecost people are Easter people who know they have been sent into the world with the power of the Holy Spirit to strengthen and encourage them as they spread the word of Jesus Christ. Pentecost people have good news to share, and do so by word, thought, and deed.

Are you a Pentecost person? If not, what is stopping you? God gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and Jesus gave us the threefold mission:

Go, make disciples of all nations;

Baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit;

Teach them to obey everything Jesus taught us.

What would it take for you to live as a Pentecost person? What keeps you from sharing the good news that you know, the news that you are saved? Jesus Christ came to this earth to die for us, so that we might be with our creator in heaven forevermore. This is news worth sharing with everyone we meet, so that all may know the comfort and love that we have claimed through Jesus Christ our Lord. Be a Pentecost People, and share your joy with those you know and the world at large!

In Him,

Pastor Jon
