Diving into Possibilities this Summer 

In a few short weeks the school year will be wrapping up and visions of summer are filling my mind and my dreams! Long summer nights, vacation, family time and being with friends are what fill my summer dreams. I also continue to dream about ways we can truly become the Community called by God to Worship, Grow and Serve! 

Pastor Jon and I have just wrapped up a series of sermons bringing those four words to life. But I wonder what those words mean to you? How do you see yourself helping to make that mission statement to become a reality? What are some ways you can be involved in our Community, to Worship, to Grow, and to Serve? All of those are a joyful part of our life together as a church family and each is dependent on the other, none of those words can stand alone! 

As we look ahead to the long days of summer, I believe it is a great opportunity to seek to live out our mission statement. To continue to dive deeper into our faith and further into community and I hope you will join in the fun! 

Community: Mariners is a great opportunity for fun and fellowship as they gather this month to hear about Habitat for Humanity’s recent build in El Salvador. Also, our annual 50-year dinner celebrates those who have been faithful members of FPC for 50 years or more. 

Worship: May brings some special worship services as we celebrate Confirmation and Graduate recognition. 

Grow: Sunday morning classes for all ages continue through May 19. In June the Adult Sunday School moves to Jenks Lounge at 9am as we continue to study the Present Word. We also have a new Tuesday morning Bible study beginning May 7. 

Serve: Preparations are underway for Vacation Bible school. Lots of hands and help are needed as we seek to open our doors to help our neighborhood children grow in their knowledge of God! 

This has been an amazing year of going Deeper! I pray that you continue this journey of going deeper in your faith and further into community. If there is something that you would like to see happen or a group that you would like to be a part of…let’s talk! Summer is a great time to try something new!
