Thrive

There is a song by Casting Crowns that has been playing in my mind on repeat for a while now. The words are this,

So living water flowing through God we thirst for more of You. Fill our hearts and flood our souls with one desire. Just to know You and to make You known we lift Your name on High. Shine like the sun made darkness run and hide. We know we were made for so much more than ordinary lives. It’s time for us to more than just survive. We were made to thrive!”

We were made to Thrive! To flourish! To prosper!

Our theme for this program year is Thrive!

I love the image that word conjures… especially when it comes to our life of faith. We are to Thrive in our relationship with God as we grow in our faith. We are to Thrive in our relationship with others as we live in community. We are to Thrive in the ways that we serve. We are to Thrive in our worship!

Here are just a few ways that you can Thrive this year:

Grow:

Sunday Morning: Sunday classes begin at 9:00am and we offer something for everyone from the youngest to the oldest.

Midweek @ Midtown: Beginning at 4:30 in Jenks lounge we will be offering an 8 week Adult Bible study class reading through the Bible. The Chapel will be available for a time of prayer and meditation from 4:30-6:30. Dinner @ 5:45 followed by Youth Group, Midweek Kids and an Adult study class.

•New Discipleship small groups are starting in soon! This is a great opportunity to Thrive in your faith as we journey through life together.

Community:

•Seek out opportunities to join with others in fellowship through one of our PUFF (Presbyterian United for Fun) trips

•Join with others once a month on a Tuesday evening with our Prayer Shawl Ministry.

•Invite new friends to join you for lunch after church…everyone needs to eat!

Serve:

•Opportunities are endless for serving our community every Thursday at the Hand-up Food Pantry.

Spiritual Formation & Discipleship

•Become a part of our Prayer team – either by email or phone tree – and lift up others in prayer.

•Consider becoming a Stephen Minister and serving those who are hurting in our community.

•Or perhaps there is a project that is near and dear to your heart…invite others to serve alongside you.

Worship:

•Consider lending your talents to enhance our worship by joining the choir or hand bell ensemble.

Invite friends or co-workers to join you as you come to worship on Sunday

•Consider being a part of our Welcome Team.

So, how are you going to Thrive this year? How will you Thrive as you serve? How will you Thrive in your faith? How will you Thrive in community? How will you Thrive in Worship? I am looking forward to all this year holds as we seek to Thrive together! I hope you will join in this adventure and see how you can flourish.

Blessings,

Pastor Jenni

The righteous thrive like a palm tree and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.

Planted in the house of the LORD, they thrive in the courts of our God.

They will still bear fruit in old age, healthy and green
